Minanogawa vs. Nayoroiwa
(from the jaws of defeat)
Sekiwake Nayoroiwa got both hands inside and drove Minanogawa towards
the edge but the yokozuna was able to pull out the victory with a kotenage,
armlock throw. This was to be Minanogawa's last victory of the tournament though,
as he finished with a 10-5 record. |

Minanogawa vs. Tamanoumi
(final victory before retirement)
Sekiwake Tamanoumi got a right hand inside but Minanogawa was able to
pull him in with his left, eventually locking up Tamanoumi's right to beat him
by kimedashi, arm barring force out. Losing on the last day, this was
to be Minanogawa's last victory as he announced his retirement a day after the
tournament ended. |
