1963 September Basho, final day
Kashiwado vs. Taiho
Kashiwado started 1963 by withdrawing from the January Basho
completely.
The following March, he was forced to pull out from the sixth day
with injuries to his right shoulder and elbow. That and a series
of other health problems forced him to miss almost all of the first
four basho of the year.
Coming back in style in September, he went undefeated over the first
fourteen days to face rival yokozuna Taiho, also undefeated,
for the tournament championship on day fifteen. He won that match
by yorikiri, or frontal force out, to take his second top
division title with a perfect 15-0 record. That title also marked
his first as a yokozuna.

1967 July Basho, 14th day
Kashiwado vs. Tamanoshima
Yokozuna Sadanoyama and ozeki Yutakayama, both picking
up their third loss of the tournament in earlier matches, gave Kashiwado
his fifth top championship before he even stepped up onto the dohyo.
The yokozuna didn't let up though, making short work of Tamanoshima
by yorikiri or frontal force out on the fourteenth day and
defeating Sadanoyama on the fifteenth, to finish with an outstanding
14-1 record.
