1956 September Basho, 14th day
Kagamisato vs. Tochinishiki

(heading for the title)

At the tachi-ai or initial charge, Kagamisato got a left hand outside grip and immediately pulled Tochinishiki into a chest-to-chest position.
Tochinishiki worked his way into a double inside grip but Kagamisato was able to pull in his much smaller opponent from his own double outside grip and, using his beer barrel belly to great effect, was able to drive his opponent back and out by yorikiri or frontal force out. That victory gave Kagamisato the momentum he needed to take his fourth top division title.

1956 September Basho, final day
Kagamisato vs. Yoshibayama

At the tachi-ai or initial charge, Kagamisato got his favorite right hand inside grip but Yoshibayama came up pushing with his left. Kagamisato responded by using a left handed uwatenage or overarm throw to break his fellow yokozuna's balance and then, pushing down on Yoshibayama's head, take him by hatakikomi or slap down. That victory gave Kagamisato his fourth top division title with an outstanding 14-1 record.
